2007 Malbec

Our long-awaited malbec. This single-vineyard wine comes from vines planted in 1965 and the old-vine character shows in the wine´s complexity. This medium-bodied wine spent 15 months in French oak and pairs well with grilled steak or portabello mushrooms. It is currently drinking very well but will reward patience. Drink now and over the next 6-8 years. 120 cases made. 90 pts. Wine Spectator 12/09

Dark and thick with flavors swarming on top of each other. Still very young and primary, but with enough fruit and structure to age. Drinks well now, and should go at least another 5 years.

90 pts. - Wine Spectator Insider - 12/2/2009

"Very ripe and nicely rounded, with a lovely floral aroma leading the way for enticing blueberry, fig and plum fruit flavors. Long, lush finish has nice focus too." 90 pts.
